Drool

I don't know what the deal is with my cat these days but it seems that everytime she purrs, she forgets to swallow and ends up drooling all over the place.

Since we have been home it has been particularly bad (I figure she thought she would never see us again). She is very lovey dovey...which is not like her and wants to be in your lap, face, hair or in reach of one of your hands at all times. As soon as you start petting her, she starts to drool and if you pet her just the right way and she has to shake her head afterwards, the drool goes everywhere....I don't like drooling dogs and I definitely don't like drooling cats. Ugh!!! I try to tell her to swallow but I don't think she is getting it.

some of them are odd like that.
my sis had one where you needed to have a receiving blanket on yourself to not get soaked by its drool.

That is weird that she has just started doing that. I wonder if there is some explanation for it.

It's only when she is pitter patting...or purring hard. I don't think anything is wrong with her, I just think she is too excited to swallow or something. J's sister's maine coone does the same thing but a lot worse...it is just weird that it has only started in this last year.

Maddie used to do it all the time...when she would purr or knead dough.

Maybe she knows you have been petting a certain handsome male Kitty from Oregon and is trying to be a kinder, gentler Kat!

My black & white boy kitty does the same thing! His name is Alphonse but my niece nicknamed him "Ferris Drooler". He's done it ever since I got him as a kitten, but he's much better now and when the drool starts, he smacks his little lips to suck it back in. I guess he didn't like hearing all the EWWWWW's after he shook his head and sprayed everyone.
