It seems like both projects that I have been involved with the last two years have disappeared, or have become so complicated that it isn't worth my time anymore. I need to go to their flicker sites and pull down my pics too because I don't need them to be publically viewable but I don't want it to ruin any of my blog posts, so I need to think about what I am going to do first.
I also plan to a do a search on the web and see if there are any other photo projects I can do instead. Hopefully one that isn't only once a month...I can probably swing that...LOL

MCP Project August
These are my submissions (so far) for the MCP Project August Challenges. I was able to complete two of the challenges without too much trouble, but need to focus if I am going to get the next two done in time.

This was for Challenge #2 which was to take an image that reflects Sports of some kind in honor of the 2012 Olympics. Walking has been glorious recently, especially with all the visiting family. I couldn't help but step back and get this shot of everyone. I used a filter script in GIMP 2.6 to border and sepia this image after I had already done a color and light auto balance.

This was Challenge #4 for the month and it too was pretty easy to do. We had to capture Gold in our image. I had this great macro from the same walking trail in the previous image and the gold in it just stood out. This challenge was also in honor of the Olympics this year. I kept waiting for a breeze to come and change the shape and look of these guys but it never happened and I am glad or I wouldn't have gotten the shot. I only did an auto balance and black fuzzy border in GIMP 2.6 to enhance this image. Once again, great morning light!

MCP Project April
These are my challenge submissions for the MCP Project for April. There is a fourth one but I am not sure if I will get it done in time.

This was Challenge #2 which was Bloom and at this time of year, it was harder to select one image from all the "blooming" image possibilities there were out there. I only did an auto correct for light and color, and then added the fuzzy border. The afternoon light was already so great and the flowers speak for themselves.

This second image is one that screams Spring in these here parts...growing up I would just zip my pinched fingers up the step and pop all the little blue balls off. I am sure my mom and Aunt just loved that...LOL. Anyhow, this one also had great afternoon light so I only did an auto correct to balance light and color and then added the fuzzy border. This is for Challenge #3, which was for a Shallow Depth of Field.

The sun peaking through these flowers was awesome and I couldn't help but take advantage of this challenge. This one falls under Challenge #4, Taking a Shot from Below. I tried not to let the sun into the lens itself because it would have wiped out all the detail in the flowers. I only did an auto correct for light and color balance and added the fuzzy border.

MCP Project March Part II
These are my submissions for the other two challenges in the MCP Project for March. They are for Challenges #4 and #1, which are Macro and From Above, respectively.

The afternoon light was so awesome, so on this one I only did a balance for light and color and then added the fuzzy border.

This one too...great afternoon light just like on the grouping I did for the Shutter Sisters project. I did the same balance of color and light and added the fuzzy border as the first picture.

MCP Project March
So these are my first two submissions for the March challenges on MCP. These are for Challenge #2 and #3 which are Natural Light and "Transition", respectively. I am going to see if I can get the other two challenges in as well, but I couldn't find the opportunity for them today.

On this one, I did an auto correct for light and color, and then in GIMP, I bumped the brightness a bit, bumped the green and blue hues a bit, and added the fuzzy border. I loved this little flower sitting all by itself and the detail in the petals.

On this one, I loved that the blooms weren't all open yet and the color went from white to green. The afternoon light was great too! I did auto correct for light and color, and then in GIMP, I bumped the brightness, bumped the green hues, and added the fuzzy border.

MCP Change Up
Another change is that the images are going to be back on Flickr instead of hosted at our own blogs or third party sites. I am glad for this in some ways because it is easier for me to just have both projects on Flickr, but I also liked the traffic I was getting to my blog from the project as well so....
Last month's theme for both projects was Leap and I just couldn't come up with anything...I am hoping that this new format will motivate me to take a few more pics this month.

Photo Projects
I can't believe it...both photo projects are using the word Leap for the month of February.....I could use the same picture for both projects but I am going to try to see if I can come up with two pictures. I have to assume this means February this year is a Leap Year (which I didn't realize). That has to be a good sign, right? Just makes the Year of the Dragon that much more interesting!!

January MCP Project 12

My submission for the MCP Project 12 for January. The theme is Resolution and my running is my resolution for this year...rain or shine! I didn't do anything to this image other than add a fuzzy border and the regular auto correct for light and color.

Photo Project Beginnings
It is a new year and time for both photo projects I participated in last year to start again...the one that was every week has modified to only be once a month and won't be using the Flickr group anymore but otherwise they are both the same.
MCP Project 12 is the one that used to be weekly and has changed to be monthy. This is a link to the post you can sign up with and you can upload pics on their blog rather than using the Flickr group like last year. I will probably use my blog as my hosting location for this one.
Shutter Sister's One Word Project is the second one. This one has always been a monthly themed project and it continues to be. They will also continue to use the Flickr group for their hosting which is fine with me...I almost always make a post from my image for the month either way so it doesn't necessarily matter where the image is hosted at. The theme for January is your own word...a word that signifies something for you and you can post your word and your intention to participate on this post.
I am excited to start taking some shots and getting some ideas brewing in my head for both of these projects.

Week 51 MCP Project 52

This is my submission for Holiday Cheer, the theme for the week. I didn't do anything but an auto correct and then add a fuzzy border to this one. It was classically festive all on its own. It is a cute little Charlie Brown tree if I don't say so myself...

Week 44 MCP Project 52

Here is my submission for this week....cloudy day so the colors came out pretty nice. The theme is Muted Tones. I only did an auto balance on color and light, and then added a fuzzy border.

Week 42 MCP Project 52

This is my submission for this week. The theme is True Beauty and while I was out for my run, I saw this little daisy on a field of grass all alone just asking to be photographed...the afternoon light was awesome so all I did was the autocorrect for color and light and then a fuzzy black border.

Week 39 MCP Project 52

This is my submission for Week 39. I have been slacking on some of my picture projects but I wanted to get this one up after seeing these cool flowers yesterday. The theme is Man vs Nature this week. I only did an autocorrect for brightness and balance and then added a black fuzzy border.

Week 29 MCP Project 52

My submission for the week...the theme is Get In Close. These little bright flowers were hiding in the grass in my yard. I am sure they will be gone the next time the yard gets mowed. I only cropped and used the fuzzy border on this shot, the light was already terrific.

Week 26 MCP Project 52

This is my submission for this week. The theme is Hidden Object, and while these poppies didn't really qualify as hidden, they definitely were the rarity in this field of blue.
I only used the auto correct for color and light balance and then added a fuzzy border.

Week 23 MCP Project 52

This was a fun one. I got some exercise during my search for this subject. I thought that this statue fit the bill perfectly. The theme for this week was Enchantment.
I used the auto correct for color and light balance, and then added a wind action (in GIMP 2) and a fuzzy border.

Week 22 MCP Project 52
This is my submission for this week. The theme was Reflection and I was able to get into the yard before the dew all dried up this morning. I didn't make any changes other than to autocorrect the light and color, and then add the border. I have not managed to meet my goal of posting my images earlier in the week so I can play with more of the effects._____________________________
