Squirrel Aftermath

I posted a few days ago about this grey squirrel I saw dragging a huge pine cone up the tree to eat it.

This is the one from yesterday only half eaten.
Well, yesterday, I guess there was one in the tree near our front door and when I opened it to go to soccer, I startled it and it dropped the cone half eaten and then jumped on to our roof with a huge thump and scampered off. I didn't mean to interrupt its meal but since the cone was still out there this morning, I thought I would get some shots.

Looks like a naked corncob, right?
Apparently the pull these little individual pieces off to get to the good stuff.

The other day, we found two of the completely eaten cones in the front yard with all the remanents around...at least now we know how they do it, right?
