My favorite fish died last night. She was one of the original ones J got me for Christmas 2004 and she seemed to have the most character. She had developed a growth on her back a few months ago, but seemed to be okay. It went down some and then last week a second started to grow on the other side. Yesterday she didn't seem to be doing very well.
I am sad to have her gone...I guess I need to go to the pet store soon and see if I can find another similar to her. Sucks when they die.

I'm sorry about your loss. We had a goldfish for about six years and she was so spunky and personable. She would give your finger kisses and swim around and follow you around the room. I was so sad when she passed, although she outlasted every other fish by a long shot. I hope you find a new friend worthy of your old one!
I had one fish for about 5 years. I could pet him and feed him by hand (and often did). He lived with me in 3 states, made two cross country trips in a bucket, and was the only fish I have ever felt attached to. I debated putting him in our backyard koi pond because he was getting big... but I couldn't do it. I was afraid he would get hurt.
I cried when he died.
That's exactly how we felt about Lucy! She moved to another state with us too. That story would actually make a good blog post.
Wow, I didn't realize you could move fish that way...I figured when we have to move again, I will just try to find them good homes...
They can move with you just fine with a little care and planning, as long as you are driving and not flying, of course.
