Well they started today...at least I wasn't here for most of it. When I saw them this morning, I wanted to cry...Now there is just a barren spot across from my house where this morning a beautiful pine and oak wood stood.
They are building a new house across from my house and have cleared most of the lot of vegetation. They did leave several of the bigger pine trees but it is not the same and now I get to wake up each morning to the sounds of construction (at least for 6 months).
I feel sorry for the wild life that had gotten accustomed to the woods being there for the last 30 years at least (the age of my house). I am sure they had a rude awakening this morning.
There is a question in my mind of how much they are really supposed to be clearing as the company doing the construction actually owns one of the lots and it looks like they are clearing two of them...hmmm. Might have to head to the city planners to check it out. Would be nice to save what we can, right?
