My favorite fish died last night. She was one of the original ones J got me for Christmas 2004 and she seemed to have the most character. She had developed a growth on her back a few months ago, but seemed to be okay. It went down some and then last week a second started to grow on the other side. Yesterday she didn't seem to be doing very well.I am sad to have her gone...I guess I need to go to the pet store soon and see if I can find another similar to her. Sucks when they die.
I'm sorry about your loss. We had a goldfish for about six years and she was so spunky and personable. She would give your finger kisses and swim around and follow you around the room. I was so sad when she passed, although she outlasted every other fish by a long shot. I hope you find a new friend worthy of your old one!
ReplyDeleteI had one fish for about 5 years. I could pet him and feed him by hand (and often did). He lived with me in 3 states, made two cross country trips in a bucket, and was the only fish I have ever felt attached to. I debated putting him in our backyard koi pond because he was getting big... but I couldn't do it. I was afraid he would get hurt.
ReplyDeleteI cried when he died.
That's exactly how we felt about Lucy! She moved to another state with us too. That story would actually make a good blog post.
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't realize you could move fish that way...I figured when we have to move again, I will just try to find them good homes...
ReplyDeleteThey can move with you just fine with a little care and planning, as long as you are driving and not flying, of course.
